9 things to remember before you go on a trip

Dernière mise à jour : 17 nov. 2019

Once you have booked your plane tickets and hotel rooms, packing your bags is the last step away from your incredible vacation. Trick or travel knows that this is a chore for many of you, but if you follow our expert advice to pack your suitcase, you will never have to worry about it again.

1 - Passport, flight tickets and credit card… or you won't get far!

Make sure that you have your valid passport and credit card before leaving home so that you can pay on the spot and book your flight ticket. There's nothing more stressful than forgetting something so important a few hours before the plane takes off.

2- First-aid kit

We don’t ask you to equip yourself for emergencies, but a small kit with basic medicines that you may need. After all, no one wants to suffer from a headache, a heat fever, a difficult stomach or even all three on holiday at once. It may be easy to have some medicines for your illnesses at home, but in the countries you visit, they may only be available by prescription.

3- Don't forget the adapters

Remember to buy them in advance to avoid the exorbitant prices posted at airports.

4- Don’t imagine the weather, check it!

Depending on your destination, the weather forecast will be your best friend or worst enemy. Whether it's rain or shine, meteorologists will always give you the best possible idea of the weather you can expect to find on the spot. Adapt the contents of your suitcase accordingly, also save some space for a K-way or an umbrella, while hoping never to have to use them.

5- Learn some basic expressions in the local language

There is nothing more rewarding than being able to express yourself with a few words in the local language of the country you are visiting. Locals do not expect it and often appreciate the intention even for a simple "Bonjour" and "Gracias".

6- Camera

It's becoming more and more essential, whether you use your smartphone, reflex, sports camera or compact, there's something for every taste, level and budget, but in any case, it's the object that will allow you to capture your travel memories forever.

7- Keep space in your bag for your holiday purchases

Whether it's Duty Free products or holiday gifts, it's almost inevitable that you'll go home with more than you had at the beginning, so make sure you save some space for these purchases.

8- Comply with luggage restrictions

If the company says 23kg, it means 23kg, and not one more! Weigh your luggage before arriving at the airport and make sure you respect these restrictions, otherwise you will be forced to pay an additional amount, or worse. We've all tried to fit extra pants into an overloaded suitcase, but the restrictions are there for a reason, your safety.

9 - Music or a good book

A long flight? A desire for relaxation? A good book or music is a little escape during the trip that keeps you busy during the long hours of flights or trips you have to make during your trip
